Overview

Main board of a light-vehicle tracker. An ESP32-S3 coordinates the LTE Cat-1 modem, the IMU and environmental sensors; power comes from USB-C Power Delivery or a solar panel through an MPPT charger, and a power monitor measures real system consumption.

Design challenges solved

  1. 8-layer stackup combining LTE RF, a Wi-Fi/BLE module and power conversion in 50 × 80 mm.
  2. Dual power path: USB-C PD sink and MPPT solar charging with current sensing.
  3. ESD protection on USB and SIM, level shifting between voltage domains.
